Sky Blue Leather and J Brand Ripped Jeans

A few nights ago I was having a lot of trouble falling asleep. Normally I will try to force myself to fall asleep (never works) then I poke my husband to ask if he is still awake, sometimes a late night carb treat of a salty soft hot pretzel (Super Pretzels) usually will do the trick. However, the other night required the always effective late night internet shopping spree. For those of you who have never done this it is very simple, grab your tablet, turn down the brightness (bright light disrupts circadian rhythm and wakes up the husband, (don't want to get caught) then shop away. Retail therapy cures anxieties, sadness, and insomnia.

When the delivery man shows up it is like holiday mornings and birthdays all rolled in one. I have discovered my not asleep daze makes for some questionable fashion decisions at times, but today "WOW! What a surprise!" the perfect jacket and one of the hottest colors this Fall. Neiman Marcus you nailed it again with your Sky Blue Leather Jacket.
Now let's go see how I styled it today.

The light airy color of sky blue is easily lost amid other light colors. This jacket has the fit and cut to be the focal point of my outfit. Sky blue can also be paired with charcoal, cream, burgundy and mint.

The dark shades of blue on my top and jeans make the jacket just stand out.

The subtle softness of the leather is amazing. A thin leather jacket should be soft enough to give you gentle hug.

I'm a big fan of the sky blue jacket which is brighter then powder blue, so it can handle the cold weather fashions, yet light and bright enough to remind us of clear skies and optimistic mornings. As we all know when the ominous dark clouds are above we always look up for that reassuring little slice of blue peering out from behind.

Started to get a bit warm so took of my jacket and gave me a moment to cool down. Here is a good look and my new favorite jeans from J Brand. Deconstructed Skinny jeans with ripped knees and a frayed hem.

A Day in the Park

As most people know driving in Los Angeles is never an easy task. I have spent many hours sitting in traffic on Santa Monica Blvd in Beverly Hills. In heavy traffic all of us play with the radio, thumbs up or down our Pandora, people watch (in Beverly Hills always entertaining), and wishing the traffic would finally let up. I have noticed this large silver rock formation in the park many times and decided to go have some fun the other day. As you can tell  the weather was perfect. According to the calender Fall is here so I donned my newest leather jacket. Thank you to Cusp from Neiman Marcus, this leather jacket is adorned with the multiple zippers, spread collar, buckles on the cuffs, and a quilted pattern on the body. The leather is very soft and lightweight, perfect for Southern California, with a cut to die for, this is sure to be a staple in my closet. 

A plain white tee and black leather jacket is such a classic look anyone can pull it off.

Doing my best to cause a scene.

Since I am not model tall I need to watch out for choosing jeans in such a bold color, they have the ability to draw attention to the legs. This can make your legs look short. To make that attention a positive aspect a pair of your favorite high heels will make them look longer. 

 

A good leather jacket gives the casual over the shoulder look a rocker vibe perfect for hanging in the park with a huge silver rock.

Studded Prada Pumps give the edge I love to this outfit.
