Lucky Brand Distressed Denim and Plaid

A BIG TREE AND ME

I woke up this morning and realized I had a light day of work, so I decided to embrace the relaxed style of what is truly an American image. As I was putting on one of my latest finds (Lucky Brand) distressed denim jeans in blue, I thought lets really go for the classics and pair it with a plaid shirt. Luckily this shirt is a vibrant red which I love. Yes I know I am the High Heeled Brunette, but with this outfit I needed to go with a tough girl don't mess with me pair of combat boots. So they may be Marc Jacobs and the closest thing they will see to combat is a Black Friday sale, none the less they are cool.  Bracelets are must today (everyone NEEDS an arm party) and a fashion statement I am always willing to make. Today I went with a leather band, spiked crystal bracelet and simple silver stud and rhinestone bracelet.

So here it is:

Lucky Brand Jeans are so perfect. You can always find the jeans you want and they have enough sizes to fit everyone. I can't tell you how many times I have tried on distressed jeans and the knee holes are no where near the knees.

Love the color.  Plaid does not have to be faded or washed out. The contrast between bright plaid and worn in distressed jeans is what really makes the outfit work.

These are some of the most comfortable boots. I could march through any shopping spree with these on.

This is my Favorite tree in Beverly Hills. It is a Moreton Bay Fig Tree (which is a ficus tree since it doesn't produce any figs). It is 100 years old and is in the top three of its kind for largest in America. Thank you internet for the information.

As you can tell by the Escalade and Land Rover behind me my idea of outdoorsy is a city park. This is the Beverly Hills Gardens Park. I may not have seen any bears or coyotes, but there were plenty of tourists and a girl eating a sprinkles cupcake.

A Day in the Park

As most people know driving in Los Angeles is never an easy task. I have spent many hours sitting in traffic on Santa Monica Blvd in Beverly Hills. In heavy traffic all of us play with the radio, thumbs up or down our Pandora, people watch (in Beverly Hills always entertaining), and wishing the traffic would finally let up. I have noticed this large silver rock formation in the park many times and decided to go have some fun the other day. As you can tell  the weather was perfect. According to the calender Fall is here so I donned my newest leather jacket. Thank you to Cusp from Neiman Marcus, this leather jacket is adorned with the multiple zippers, spread collar, buckles on the cuffs, and a quilted pattern on the body. The leather is very soft and lightweight, perfect for Southern California, with a cut to die for, this is sure to be a staple in my closet. 

A plain white tee and black leather jacket is such a classic look anyone can pull it off.

Since I am not model tall I need to watch out for choosing jeans in such a bold color, they have the ability to draw attention to the legs. This can make your legs look short. To make that attention a positive aspect a pair of your favorite high heels will make them look longer. 

 

A good leather jacket gives the casual over the shoulder look a rocker vibe perfect for hanging in the park with a huge silver rock.

Studded Prada Pumps give the edge I love to this outfit.

Laser Cut LIttle Black Dress

Here is a little ode to the always inspiring and completely lovable Betsey Johnson. Her appearance on Dancing With The Stars is inspiring. After her performance to Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" on DWTS she commented that she never felt beautiful until that night. Well Betsey I just want you to know you have been making other girls feel beautiful for many years.

Here is a perfect example of Betsey Johnson's designer flare. She has taken a little black dress and made it even better. Laser cut flowers with a bright white lining underneath makes this dress perfect. The black material has a satiny finish to give luster and richness to the piece. The two layers of the dress do not stick, as a matter of fact they let the dress slide and hug you creating a smooth slimming look. Mid thigh length paired with your favorite pumps and you now have the effect of elongating your legs. Yes, thank you Betsey Johnson for creating a little black dress that can take you from a power meeting, lunch with the girls, or a night of fine dining and dancing with your special someone.

Neiman Marcus Grand Opening of CUSP Beverly Hills

Here is a little insight into what really makes this High Heeled Brunette love living in Los Angeles.  The other night my favorite store Neiman Marcus was celebrating the grand reopening of the CUSP Boutique inside thier flagship store on Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills. We are all familiar with Neiman Marcus if you want Gucci, Prada, Christian Dior, or any of the trends from truly established fashion houses, Neiman Marcus has always been the place to shop. With the introduction of CUSP Neiman Marcus has embraced the up and coming and truly original designers. Love this store. The Beverly Hills store is currently under renovations. The first section they completed work on is the third floor CUSP section. It is beautiful and the fashions are to die for.

I'm noticing a trend of bright blue here. I can embrace that.

Bright colors and bold patterns playing perfectly together with metallics and faux fur.

Silver Metallic biker jacket. I can not think of any outfit that would not benefit from this jacket.

Love, Love, Love this jacket. And animal print is so on trend this season.

So much fun meeting one of my favorite shoe designers Tamara Mellon. She has a very hip and trendy line of clothes now too! She was so nice just made me love here clothes even more. 

The were beautiful cases of trendy jewelry throughout the department.

CUSP at Neiman Marcus went all out.  Here is Jana Kramer (most will recognize her from One Tree Hill) singing some rocking country tunes. Time to Do-si-do or two step over to the bar for another round. Check out her new single Love here .

Custom cocktails for this special occasion. They were yummy by the way! The Hubs was happy! They had "Beer".

Favorite cocktail of the night "On The CUSP" Watermelon, Rum, Lime, Mint, and a lot of fun.

These cut little cans are champagne.

Nothing like a hot soft pretzel with some cheese sauce.

Take a look on the right, That's Kettel One vodka. Looks like the Snow Cone has grown up. The best part is still that tasty blue syrup guarenteed to turn your tongue blue.

Fresh spun Cotton Candy. It was still warm when I got it.  Love it.

Freshly popped popcorn.  This was even better than movie popcorn.

As you can tell...cotton candy is my all time favorite treat!!

The only thing that would have made the night better would be if I didn't have to pay off my amex and if all of my friends and followers could have shared in the fun with me.
