                  Kristal                                                                                                   Jennifer

1. Tell us about you, the brains behind those beautiful tutus?
I have been married to my wonderful husband David for 20 years. He is the most wonderful man in the world.  We live an a cottage in Alabama with our Ragdoll cat Sierra. I also get to work with my best friend, Jennifer Lee, which is awesome!  I feel blessed!  I am a very girly girl. I love ruffles, rossettes and BLING!  It is so much fun to have a creative outlet.

2. Tell us about the fabulous Atutudes?  When and how did you decide to start making tutus?

Jennifer and I were planning her daughter Elan's first birthday party.  We were looking for just the right outfit for her big day.  Not finding what we were looking for, we decided to do some research and see if we could learn how to make our own tutus.  Once we learned how to make them, we were hooked!  It was so much fun to create beautiful things. We thought, Why not try to make a career of it?

3. What exactly goes into the process of making a tutu?
The most important part to me is coming up with a fabulous concept.  I try to envision how it will fit into a theme for our photoshoot.  I am inspired by certain eras, in film and real life.  Also, certain actresses and female musicians.  I love retro movies.  Once I create the concept I find a model and make a prototype.  I tweak it until I like the final result.  Once I am satisfied we send it off for photos.  When we receive the photos we create our etsy listing and start promotiong our new item with social media.  The creative process is so much fun!

4. Which tutu is your personal favorite?
I love the Pink Poodle Tutu.  I am crazy about that era.  Also, the Breakfast at Tiffany's tutu dress.  I adore Audrey Hepburn!  These are our most popular items.

 5. I hear you have quite a celebrity following.  What events have you participated in and who's little girls are wearing your tutus?
We have participated in The GBK Productions Emmy, Golden Globes and Oscar celebrity gift lounges with The Artisan Group.  We were also able to send celebrity mom's tutus in a special Mother's Day gifting opportunity.   Recipients included Hilary Duff, Rebecca Gayheart, Keri Russell, Beyonce, Kourtney Kardashian, Lindsay Price, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jessica Alba, Uma Thurman, Alyson Hannigan, Molly Sims, Sienna Miller, Kristin Cavallari, Jessica Simpson, Bryce Dallas Howard, Evangeline Lilly, Jennifer Garner, Marley Shelton, Sarah Polley, Mrs. Jason Bateman (Amanda Anka), Mrs. Bruce Willis (Emma Heming), Susan Downey, Jr., Lisa Loeb, Mrs. Kelsey Grammer (Kayte Walsh), and Jessica Capshaw.

 6. When you aren't designing, what can we find you doing?
I love to shop, travel and go to the beach.

7. What's next for Atutudes?

We are currently coming up with concepts for Halloween.  We have some really awesome ideas in the works!  We can't wait to share.

I personally can't wait to see the Halloween creations!  So now you all know why I love Atutudes so much!  If you would like to buy one please click here

OOTD - Going out to lunch!

I was meeting a friend for lunch at the beautiful Century City Mall near Beverly Hills.  It was overcast, but the weather was still nice.  I thought I would put together this beautiful flower embroidered white sheer top with my favorite skinny jeans.  I absolutely love these Dolce Vita Wedges.  They are the most comfortable shoes, I own them in 3 colors!  My favorite jewlery designer is Stephen Webster and the hubs surprised me with this ring for my birthday last year.
Lunch was great!  It's always fun to catch up with old friends and you can't beat eating outdoors when the weather is beautiful.
Where's your favorite lunch spot?

Fabulously Fun Flats

I'm absolutely in love with all the fun colors of ballerina flats for this season.  It's such a great pop of color to add to a summer outfit.  Audrey Hepburn made the ballet flat fabulously chic wearing it with dresses, pants, skirts, and shorts.  When wearing pants stay with skinny jeans or capri pants as a wide leg pant will not be as flattering.  It really is a super versatile shoe.  They are a great opportunity to spruce up your outfit.  During the summer you can usually find me in either flats or wedges.   As far as flats are concerned, try them on to make sure that the ones you like have enough arch support to keep your feet healthy and comfortable throughout the day.

What shoes are your favorite  to wear during the summer?

OOTD Running Around

I looked out the window this morning, saw the sun shining, and immediately thought I need to wear some bright jeans.  Electric blue is my 2nd favorite color.  Knowing today was going to be a busy day of errands, I knew I needed to be comfortable.  But compfort is no excuse to be frumpy!  So I put together this cute spring outfit.

Accessorizing is a must.  I love to bring the outfit together by adding a splash of color with some fun jewelry.

And to finish off the look I chose some super cute flats that would be comfy while I ran around all day.

What's your favorite thing to wear while running errands?
